Celebrities behaving badly

I thought that once your name hits tabloids and your in the limelight, you have an image to portray. So I am simply bewildered when I encounter some well known people with the courtesy of a tout and the etiquette of a school drop out. I mean, just because your name is mentioned one to many times by one too many people, does not give you the right to behave like a sugar rushed two year old.

Logic dictates that when you get into a restaurant and order food, you should be able to afford it. If you can’t just walk out. No shame in that, it happens. So when a commonplace name is of the habit of misbehaving in restaurants, you wonder from which crevice did they crawl out of. Kharma does exist whether one chooses to believe it or not. Just the same way that one would refuse to believe that gravity exists until you try jumping off any elevated surface. thus it bewilders me that one would behave in a manner in which they are tempting fate.

Where in the world is it okay to heckle someone who’s annual salary is half the cost of your car? For real? How would you explain ordering a round of drinks for a group of people and when the waiter comes to bill you, you say that you didn’t order for them and that you don’t know who is settling the bill!! In many restaurants, the norm is that you pay first and eat later. But in a restaurant where they accord you the courtesy of enjoying your food before asking for the money, you should prove to be worth the extended courtesy. How then, the more difficult to distinguish between those to be trusted and those that can’t if some of the uncouth hide behind fame. For the sake of my own skin, I’m definitely not dropping names but let the truth be said.

Let me tell you a little something. In the hotel and restaurant industry, people talk. All the time. And your behavior today at hotel A may make headlines tomorrow at hotel B. I mean, what else is there to do in this business but to talk.  But in the spirit of professionalism, we do it behind your back.  Don’t judge.  He who is without sin, cast the first stone.

Robin Van Persie’s Other side of life besides Footlball

This impressive 29 year old footballer is also quite the family man with a wife and two kids. His son Shaqueel and daughter Dina. His beautiful wife is called Bouchra.

He was born to two artistic parents who eventually divorced and he was left to be brought up by his father. His parents wanted for him to become an artist but he did not share their view on life. His interest was in football. Van Persie was also quite the trouble kid in school because he was quite a handful and was mostly excluded from class every day. Maybe his feet were itching o go and do what he was born to do. To play!

After joining Arsenal in England, He settle in an affluent suburb of North London called Hampstead. RVP also had some little controversy when he was sued by the then Miss Nigeria Holland with sexual harassment and alleged rape. He suffered a while under the harsh conditions of police cells until later when the beauty queen wanted to gain some publicity from her allegations. Van Persie later revealed how bad it was to be in the prison system that at some point he passed out from the gruesome conditions.
No celebrity marriage has had its share of tremors and RVP is no different, He confessed to have had an affair, but his lovely wife forgave him. He had the affair with the same woman who pinned accusations on him, Sandra Krigjsman. His recent move to Manchester United has not been without its fair share of drama. His wife Bouchra, was bombarded by hate messages from irate Arsenal fans on her twitter account. They called her a gold digger and the reason behind RVP’s move to Man United. Some even wished her death! But Bouchra had other Arsenal fans who were horrified by the messages send her their support. Talk about standing with her husband in all times! Bouchra is quite the woman

The English Premier league 2012-2013 season has already began and it is too early to judge Robin Van Persie’s Performance. We hope he will give all his critics something to be in awe of and give his new owners a reason to brag about.

A typical Clumsy day

In our world, you get to meet all types of people. You don’t just get to meet them, but get to experience them when they are in a state that they do not feel like putting up any pretenses. If you think our job is hard think again. It is very hard. I am talking about being a waiter. Especially if you are new. The clients don’t really care if you are fresh from college with only theory on how to serve but they expect value and good service. So woe unto you if you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and lady luck took a sudden disliking to you.

Like in every job, there are good days and bad days. Then those are the same days that fate likes listening to you whining and taking it as a challenge. I mean, how do you explain exclaiming that what would just make the night worse is dropping a drink, and then you drop one? That is called sadistic luck or a fairy godmother with horrible timing and no iota of heart. Not only is it utterly embarrassing but you will hear of it from fellow staff for the whole week, The good thing is when you get a nice guest who tells you sorry and can genuinely feel your embarrassment. It makes it less painful and a little less awkward wiping your mess.

Those are the clumsy days of our lives. Other days, you see us balancing bottles and loads of glasses effortlessly and skirting through the restaurant. But on some days, we just stepped on the wrong foot as we entered the restaurant. A little empathy would hurt now would it?
